The new Bilt Card 2.0 program is here. Built for total flexibility, we’re excited to finally announce the benefits and allow our existing cardholders to transition seamlessly.*
Bilt Card 2.0 officially goes live on 2/7/26. Between now and 2/1/26, existing cardholders can seamlessly transition and pre-order a new Bilt Card in their Bilt account or on bilt.com/card.* This page outlines what’s changing, how to pre-order your new card, and what to expect throughout the process.
Details about your existing Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard
When is the last day to use my existing Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard?
You can continue using your Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard through 2/6/26. After 2/6/26, the card will be retired, and any transactions made with it, including rent payments, will be declined. Note: The last day to use your Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard for rent payments with BiltProtect on is 2/3/26.
How do I pre-order a new Bilt Card?
You have until 2/1/26 to choose a new Bilt Card to seamlessly transition from your old Bilt Card. Seamless upgrade* includes:
- Keeping your same card number — All your major subscriptions, autopay, and saved payment methods stay the same
-
Auto-updates to your digital wallets — Apple Pay and Google Pay automatically refresh with your new Bilt Card details
- NOTE: Your Bilt Card includes both a physical card number and a virtual card number. The physical card number is printed on your actual Bilt Card and is used for purchases made with your physical card. The virtual card number is a digital version of your card that you can use for online purchases and in apps. Both numbers are tied to the same Bilt account, and the virtual card number adds an extra layer of security when you shop online.
- Upgrade with no hard credit inquiry — Choose from three new cards without a hard inquiry on your credit report*
Your new Bilt Card will appear as a new account on your credit report with a new line of credit.
Upon selecting your new card, Bilt may also give you the option to automatically:
- Transfer your balance from your old Bilt Wells Fargo Mastercard to your new Bilt Card 2.0 shortly after 2/6/26.
- Close your old Wells Fargo account — we’ll work with Wells Fargo to seamlessly close your old account shortly after 2/6/26.
If you choose not to close your old Wells Fargo account, it will remain open and will be converted into a Wells Fargo Autograph® Card, which you can manage separately from your new Bilt Card 2.0.
Why am I receiving a Wells Fargo Autograph Visa Card from Wells Fargo?
If you choose to keep your Wells Fargo account open, Wells Fargo will issue an Autograph® Visa Card with a new card number for continued use.
Should I continue making payments to my Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard?
Yes. You should continue to make payments to Wells Fargo for your existing card as you normally would. You can do this through the Bilt app or website through 2/6/26. If you’ve selected a new Bilt Card*, you may also have the option to transfer any balance from your Wells Fargo account to your new Bilt Card.
After 2/6/26, payments to your Wells Fargo account will no longer be supported in your Bilt account. At that point, if you have a balance, you’ll need to make payments directly to Wells Fargo by calling 1-833-404-2272 or visiting wellsfargo.com.
Note: After 2/6/26, your former Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard account will display as a Wells Fargo Autograph® Card on Wells Fargo
Will my rent payment setup change?
The last day to use your Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard for rent payments is on 2/6/26. However, if you use BiltProtect with your Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard, the last day to make a rent payment through BiltProtect is 2/3/26.
If you choose to apply for a new Bilt Card,* you'll be able to start making rent and mortgage payments through Bilt on 2/7/26. With the new Bilt Card, these payments will be pulled directly from your linked bank account, rather than using your credit limit.¹ You can still earn points on these payments, but they won’t count against your available credit line.
Selecting your new Bilt Card
What are the key benefits of the Bilt Card 2.0 program?
Our Bilt Card program delivers the richest rewards experience yet, designed to give you even more flexibility and rewards on your home and neighborhood spending.
- Three card options, designed for different spending habits.
- Earn the most valuable point currency on rent, mortgage, and everyday spend
- Depending on the card tier, get more benefits like travel credits and Bilt Cash credits.¹
- Make rent and mortgage payments with no transaction fee through Bilt, always
-
Choose how you earn Bilt-exclusive bonus rewards¹
- Flexible Bilt Cash: Earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend, in addition to points. Use Bilt Cash to unlock up to 1X points on housing payments or apply it dollar-for-dollar across the Bilt ecosystem for monthly credits, travel, dining, and more.
- Housing-only rewards: Earn up to 1.25X points on rent and mortgage payments, instead of earning Bilt Cash on everyday spend.
Can I make rent and mortgage payments without a transaction fee?
Yes, you can pay rent and mortgage through Bilt without a transaction fee with every Bilt Card. Choose between two Bilt-exclusive bonus reward options to earn rewards on your housing payments when setting up your card:
Flexible Bilt Cash: With this option, you’ll earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday purchases, in addition to the points earnings associated with each card.¹ Bilt Cash is a flexible rewards currency that gives you even richer rewards across the Bilt ecosystem — use it dollar-for-dollar for monthly credits, or to unlock up to 1X points on rent and mortgage payments through Bilt, with no transaction fee.
You can use Bilt Cash to unlock points on housing payments at a rate of $30 of Bilt Cash to 1,000 Bilt Points. Use as much of your available Bilt Cash as you want to unlock up to 1X points on housing payments, up to your payment amount. For example, on a $2,000 rent payment, redeeming $60 in Bilt Cash earns you the full 2,000 points.
Housing-only rewards: Instead of earning Bilt Cash on your everyday spend, you’ll earn points on housing payments automatically, up to 1.25X. Your points multiplier increases based on how much you spend on your card each billing cycle—the more you use it for everyday purchases, the more points you earn on your housing payment made during the same billing cycle.¹
- Spend at least 25% of your monthly housing payments on everyday purchases, earn 0.5X points on your housing payments
- Spend at least 50% of your monthly housing payments on everyday purchases, earn 0.75X points on your housing payment
- Spend at least 75% of your monthly housing payments on everyday purchases, earn 1X points on your housing payments
- Spend the same or more of your monthly housing payments on everyday purchases, earn 1.25X points on your housing payments
If you don't reach the minimum spend threshold in a billing cycle, you’ll still earn 250 points on your housing payment through Bilt. You’ll be able to track your progress to each threshold clearly in the Bilt app each month.
What expenses count as a housing payment?
Bilt Housing Payments are eligible residential rent or mortgage payments made through the Bilt app or website, including other housing-related fees billed directly by your property manager or mortgage servicer, such as HOA dues, utilities, property taxes, amenity fees, gym fees and any other amounts agreed upon by you and Bilt.
Can I change what Bilt-exclusive bonus rewards option I select?
Yes. You can change your selected Bilt-exclusive bonus rewards option at any time. Changes take effect on the first day of the following Billing Cycle and will be reflected in the Bilt app.
Can I pay rent or mortgage for more than one home through Bilt?
Yes. You can pay rent or mortgage for multiple homes through Bilt and earn rewards on eligible payments. Your rewards earnings will follow the same structure as the Bilt-exclusive rewards option you select.
When do I need to pre-order a new Bilt Card?
If you choose a new Bilt Card by 2/1/26, you’ll transition seamlessly and receive the following benefits.*
- Transition with no hard inquiry on your credit report
- Keep the same credit card number you already use (you will receive a new CVV and expiration date)
- Get your new card delivered in early February to ensure no interruption
Choosing your new card after 2/1/26 will trigger a standard credit inquiry and you will no longer be eligible for the no–hard-inquiry transition, card number continuity, and early delivery.*
Will transitioning result in a hard credit inquiry on my credit report?
If you choose a new Bilt Card by 2/1/26, you’ll transition without a hard inquiry on your credit report.* Your new Bilt Card will appear as a new account on your credit report with a new line of credit. If you apply after 2/1/26 a standard hard credit check will be required, which may temporarily affect your credit score.
Am I guaranteed approval for the new cards?
While approval isn't guaranteed, you'll be able to view all Bilt Card options in your Bilt account and choose the one that best fits your needs without a hard inquiry on your credit report through 2/1. Selecting a card after 2/1 will be subject to a standard application and hard credit check.*
Will my credit limit transfer over?
Your credit limit for the new card will be determined by our issuing bank partner as part of the transition process.
What if I don't want to transition to a new card? How does this impact my points?
If you decide not to move to a new Bilt Card, nothing changes with your Bilt membership or your points. You’ll continue to:
- Keep all the Bilt Points you’ve earned
- Redeem points through the Bilt app or at bilt.com
- Access Bilt services and benefits using any credit or debit card linked to your Bilt Wallet
How do I transition from my current card to a new 2.0 card?
You can start your transition by visiting bilt.com/card or by going to the Wallet tab in your Bilt account.
- Explore your options. Go to bilt.com/card or open the Wallet tab to learn more about each 2.0 card and view the options available to you.
- Choose a card. Select a card and complete a short set of verification steps to see if you're approved.*
- Receive confirmation. You’ll get a notice once your selection has been reviewed and officially approved. Note: your new Bilt Card will appear as a new account on your credit report with a new credit line.
- Accept offer. Review your new card terms and credit line, then accept your offer to proceed.
- Get your new card. We’ll notify you as soon as your card is on the way. You’ll be able to activate and start using it on 2/7/26 (along with a virtual card and using your mobile wallet).
Note: If you choose your new card by 2/1/26, we’ll make sure your physical card gets to you early February.*
Which new card is recommended for me?
Once you log into your Bilt app or account, you’ll receive a tailored recommendation to help you navigate your options. The choice is entirely yours. Our recommendation is just a starting point.
Do I need to create a new Bilt account?
No, you don't need to create a new Bilt account. Please choose your new Bilt Card with your existing Bilt credentials.*
I selected a new Bilt Card before the two Bilt-exclusive bonus rewards options were announced. Can I change my selection?
Yes. You can change your selection before February 1.* Simply contact Bilt customer service at support@card.bilt.com and our team will assist with your request.
I applied for a new Bilt Card and was notified that my application is under manual review. Does that mean my application was declined?
If your application is under manual review, it has not been declined. Review may take several days. You will receive an email with a decision when manual review is complete.
What should I do if my application was declined?
While we took extensive steps to make the Card 2.0 transition seamless, in a small number of cases (less than 10%) our financing partner was unable to extend a new credit line. If you believe this is an error, please reach out to Bilt support (support@card.bilt.com) and we’ll do everything we can to help get it resolved.
