Frequently Asked Questions
What's an FSA
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) lets you put a specific amount of pre-tax dollars into an account each year and you can use that money on eligible purchases, like doctor visits, medicine, and other eligible expenses. FSA accounts have a"use-it or lost-it" rule: If the money in an FSA account is not spent by the end of the year plan, most of it goes away, so its important to use it.
You can learn more about FSA plans by contacting your employer or plan provider

What are instant HSA/FSA reimbursements?
If you’ve purchased something HSA/FSA eligible at Walgreens, you’ll see it in the Pharmacy tab in the “Eligible Transactions” section. If you tap reimburse, you can choose from reimbursement methods. You will need to link your HSA/FSA account and card to select instant reimbursement.
Instant reimbursements will pull reimbursement funds from your linked HSA/FSA account and card and reimburse via statement credit to your original payment method. This occurs instantly and will post within 1-2 business days.
If you do not have automatic reimbursements set up, you will need to submit your item for reimbursement on the same calendar day as your purchase for it to be eligible for instant reimbursement. If you have automatic reimbursements enabled, your submission will happen automatically.
Are there any fees for instant reimbursements?
Yes, there is a $1 service fee associated with instant reimbursements. The fee will be disclosed to you before you confirm each transaction, and you will have the opportunity to decline the instant reimbursement and instead use traditional reimbursement (which does not incur a fee). If you have enabled automatic instant reimbursement, the fee will be automatically applied to each qualifying transaction
What are traditional HSA/FSA reimbursements?
If you’ve purchased something HSA/FSA eligible at Walgreens, you’ll see it in the Pharmacy tab in the “Eligible Transactions” section. If you tap reimburse, you can choose from reimbursement methods. You will need to link your HSA/FSA account and card to select instant reimbursement.
Traditional reimbursements are submitted to your HSA/FSA provider as a claim. Funds will be pulled from your HSA/FSA account to reimburse the purchase and will be reimbursed to the method you have set up with your HSA/FSA provider. Traditional reimbursements can be submitted at any time and may take up to 8 weeks.
Can I submit reimbursements manually without setting up automatic reimbursements?
Yes. If you’ve purchased something HSA/FSA eligible at Walgreens, you’ll see it in the Pharmacy tab in the “Eligible Transactions” section. If you tap reimburse, you can select the reimbursement method you prefer without enabling automatic reimbursements.
Can I switch between instant and traditional reimbursements?
Yes. Please note that to enable instant reimbursements you will need to link your HSA/FSA account and your card.
If you manually submit your eligible purchases for reimbursement you can select either option, providing you are within the same-calendar-day eligibility window for instant reimbursements. If your reimbursement request is being submitted on a different day than the purchase occurred, you will only be able to opt into traditional reimbursements.
If you have automatic reimbursements enabled, you can manage your reimbursement preferences at any time by tapping manage on the pharmacy tab.
Where can I view the status of my reimbursements?
You can view the status of your reimbursements in the reimbursement history section of the pharmacy tab of the Bilt app or website.
Can I cancel a reimbursement?
Once a transaction is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled or reversed through Bilt. If you need to dispute or reverse an Instant Reimbursement, you must contact your HSA/FSA Account administrator directly.
Will my HSA/FSA claim definitely be approved? Not necessarily. While Bilt automatically identifies and submits eligible purchases on your behalf, the final determination of eligibility rests with your HSA/FSA account administrator. Your provider may approve, partially approve, or reject a claim. For disputes about claim decisions, you'll need to work directly with your HSA/FSA provider.
My reimbursement was not successful - what should I do?
Please review your HSA/FSA account information to ensure it is correct. You can submit a new claim via Bilt or reach out to your HSA/FSA provider directly.
How do I unenroll from Automatic Healthcare Savings? You can unenroll from the service at any time through your Bilt account settings or by contacting Bilt Member Support at support@biltrewards.com. Please note that upon disenrollment, you will need to update your information directly with your HSA/FSA administrator for any future reimbursements.
What happens if Bilt misidentifies a purchase as HSA/FSA eligible? Bilt's eligibility identification is automated and may not be perfect — purchases could be incorrectly flagged as eligible or eligible purchases could be missed. If a claim is submitted for an ineligible item, your HSA/FSA provider may reject it. For any disputes, contact your HSA/FSA account administrator directly.
