How do I start earning Bilt Points through Rakuten?
Navigate to the Everyday Rewards tab in your Bilt account, then sign up through Bilt for a free Rakuten account to start earning. You’ll get an email from Rakuten to set your password. Your Rakuten account will connect seamlessly after you complete the account linking process, and your Rakuten Cash Back payment will be set to Bilt Points. Once your Rakuten account is connected, you can start earning Cash Back when you shop through Bilt or Rakuten.
Already have a Rakuten account? Follow the account linking steps with your existing Rakuten account information on the Bilt app or website. Your Rakuten account will connect seamlessly after you link your Bilt account and your Rakuten Cash Back payment will be set to Bilt Points. Once your Bilt account is connected, you’re all set! Any confirmed Cash Back earned but not paid before switching to Bilt will be sent as Bilt Points by the next payment date.
Important: To link your Rakuten account to Bilt, the email addresses on both accounts must match. If the email addresses are different, you’ll need to update one of them before linking.

How do I earn Bilt Points with Rakuten?
Once you link your Bilt and Rakuten accounts, earning Bilt Points with Rakuten is simple.
- Start at Rakuten and choose a store. You can use the Rakuten website, mobile app, or browser extension. You can also shop through the Bilt website or mobile app.
- Shop as you normally would. If you’re using the Rakuten browser extension, be sure to activate Cash Back before you start shopping. Once you make an eligible purchase, we’ll add Cash Back to your Rakuten account.
- Get Bilt Points! Your confirmed Cash Back will be sent as Bilt Points every three months, according to the Rakuten payment schedule.
What is the conversion rate from Cash Back to Bilt Points?
On Rakuten, you’ll shop and earn in Cash Back but you’ll get paid in Bilt Points. Your confirmed Cash Back will be converted to Bilt Points based on the Bilt conversion rate. In general, your conversion rate depends on your Elite Status at the time of your payout date.
- Blue members: 50 points per $1 in Rakuten cash-back

When will I get my Bilt Points?
Any confirmed Cash Back you earn on purchases, bonuses and other rewards will be sent to your Bilt account as Bilt Points every three months, according to the Rakuten payment schedule.
How long does it take for pending Cash Back to be confirmed?
Once the store sends Rakuten your order details, your Cash Back will be pending. It will be added to your confirmed Rakuten balance and included in your next payment, unless we receive new information from the store.
Online and in-store Cash Back typically takes 3 to 14 weeks to be confirmed. This waiting period exists in case of returns, exchanges, exclusions or other changes to your order.
Cash Back on Dining will be confirmed within 3 to 5 days after you dine.
Travel Cash Back is typically confirmed within 45 to 120 days after completing your experience..
Bonuses depend on a qualifying order and will be confirmed at the same time as the related Cash Back. Your Refer-A-Friend bonuses will be confirmed once your friend makes a qualifying purchase and their Cash Back is confirmed. All bonuses are subject to applicable terms.
Remember, your Cash Back, bonuses and other rewards need to be confirmed by the payment date to be included.
What is the Rakuten Payment Schedule?
Rakuten will send your Cash Back as Bilt Points to your Bilt account by the following dates:
- February 15
- May 15
- August 15
- November 15
Where will I see my Cash Back activity?
Cash Back Activity shows your current earnings, including both pending and confirmed Cash Back. The time it takes for Cash Back to be confirmed depends on several factors, including the store, store policy, reporting schedule, exclusions and returns. For more details, go to Cash Back Activity in your Rakuten account.
Remember, your Cash Back on purchases, bonuses and other rewards need to be confirmed before the payment date to be included.

Can I use the same credit card to earn Cash Back on dining with Rakuten and rewards on dining with Bilt?
Only one rewards program can be linked to your credit card. If there’s another dining rewards program you’d like to participate in, we recommend that you use a separate credit card for each program. This will prevent your card from being removed from a program automatically. Please refer to your credit card’s terms and conditions as details may vary by card.
Is there a minimum balance to get paid?
Yes, you need minimum confirmed earnings of $5.01 before the next payment date to get paid. Cash Back must be confirmed by the store before the payment date to be included in your payment. If your confirmed balance is $5.00 or less, it will carry over to the next payment date.
How do I check the Cash Back earned in my Rakuten account?
You can see your current earnings any time in Cash Back Activity in your Rakuten account.
How can I update my Rakuten payment method to Bilt Points?
There are four ways to receive your Cash Back payments:
- Big Fat Check
- PayPal
- American Express Membership Rewards® points
- Bilt Points
Any method you choose is free. Payments are sent every three months on our payment schedule. You can update your payment method or payment details any time in your Rakuten Account Settings. If you’re using the Rakuten App, go to Account, then Choose How You Get Paid.
Note that you can’t switch directly between Bilt Points and American Express Membership Rewards points. If you want to switch from Bilt Points to Membership Rewards points or vice versa, choose PayPal or Big Fat Check first, then select Bilt Points or Membership Rewards points. Questions? How can I update my Rakuten account settings?
You can update the email address and password you use to sign in to your Rakuten account in Account Settings.You must be signed in to your account with your current email address and password to make changes. You can update your payment method in your Rakuten account at any time. Learn more about payment methods

I linked the wrong Rakuten account, or accidentally created an additional account. How do I unlink and link the correct Rakuten account?
Your Bilt account will only be linked to a Rakuten account if the associated account email addresses match. If you'd like to update which account is linked, simply ensure your preferred Rakuten account has the matching email with your Bilt account and go through the linking process again.
To avoid any further mixup, ensure the correct Rakuten account has Bilt Points as its payment method, and that the incorrect account does not, and uses a different payment method. You can update your payment settings in Rakuten Account Settings.
